How Do I Do Action Replay in Pokemon Platinum?

Insert the Action Replay Max Drive DS cartridge into the larger slot on the Nintendo DS used for Game Boy Advance games.

Insert any Game Boy Advance game cartridge into the slot on the back of the Action Replay cartridge. It does not matter what game is inserted. The Action Replay cartridge cannot function if there is no game inserted.

Insert "Pokemon: Platinum" into the smaller slot used for DS games.

Turn on the Nintendo DS and touch the "Action Replay" button in the main menu.

Press your user icon in the login screen. If you do not have a user name, press "Add New." You then must enter a nickname and choose a user icon so you can login with later uses.

Press "Backup Cart" to create a backup of the saved file currently on the "Pokemon: Platinum" cartridge. A prompt appears to allow you to name the backup save. This name has no bearing on anything beyond identifying it later on. A backup is made after you confirm the name. You must enter "Pokemon: Platinum" as the name of the game the first time you use this feature. This is not required with subsequent uses.

Press "Restore Cart" to transfer a backup save on the Action Replay to the "Pokemon: Platinum" cartridge. A list of backup saves appears after you press this button. The backup save overwrites the saved file on the cartridge after it is selected.

Press "Manage Saves" to open the save manager. Press any saved file in the list to modify it. You can edit the name of the saved file or delete it using the buttons on the right side of the screen.
