How to Make Profiles in Nintendogs: Chihuahua & Friends

Power up your Nintendo DS console and load the game as you would any other cartridge. Wait for the logo to appear and disappear, then tap the door that appears on the screen.

Select either "Buy" or "Observe" when you arrive at the kennel. "Observe" helps you decide which puppy to get, as it allows you to watch the unique aspects of each breed. Touch the arrow on the upper left corner to go back to the kennel screen and select "Buy" when you are ready to create your profile.

Choose one of the five breeds presented to you. Then choose one of the three puppies of that breed that appear on the screen. These three puppies will be different colors, genders and prices. The next screen will ask you to confirm your choice after you've reviewed a particular puppy's personality, price and gender by selecting the button on the bottom left of the screen. If you wish to go to the previous page to look at other puppies available, click the "Cancel" button on the bottom right of the screen.

Confirm your choice by selecting the green button on the left. The game will then have you "whistle" to your puppy to get its attention; pet your puppy to make it feel comfortable in its new home, and ask you to name your puppy with a voice command. When you have chosen a name for your puppy, select the green "Begin Recording" button and say your new puppy's name clearly.

Tap the "A/1" button after the prompt to type out your puppy's name. Confirm the name you've chosen by selecting the grey button on the bottom left, then the green "Confirm" button on the bottom left again.
