How Do I Unlock Kanto in Pokemon SoulSilver?

The Kanto league is essentially an entire second game packed onto your "Pokemon SoulSilver" cartridge. The league takes place on a different set of islands than the Johto league, and it allows the trainer access to different Pokemon as well. The Kanto league is slightly different than it was in the original "Pokemon Silver" --- of which "SoulSilver" is a remake --- but the overall layout and events are the same as in the first game. However, you have to unlock the Kanto league before you can participate in it.

Instructions

  Play through the game normally until you reach the Final Four battle, in which you will face the final boss fights in the Johto League.

  Defeat the Final Four in a series of four battles to finish the Johto league and the first part of "Pokemon SoulSilver."

  Wait for the credits to finish rolling, and then save your game and reload that same game. You will be in your house, where you will receive a message from Professor Elm.

  Speak to Professor Elm in his lab. He will give you tickets to the S.S. Aqua, the ship that will take you to the Kanto league. Meet the professor at Olivine City to board the ship and travel to Kanto.
