How to Catch Shiny Pokemon Without DS Replay in Pokemon SoulSilver

A Shiny Pokemon is just like any other Pokemon except that it has a different color scheme. For example, instead of having a blue coating, a Shiny Metagross will have a silver coating. In "Pokemon SoulSilver," you have a 1 in 8,192 chance of coming across a Shiny Pokemon in battle. To get a Shiny Pokemon in "Pokemon SoulSilver" without using Action Replay, you will probably have to flee from a few thousand Pokemon before you find one.

  Choose the Shiny Pokemon that you want to obtain. If the Shiny you want is a Starter Pokemon, a stationary Legendary Pokemon or a Pokemon that is very common in the wild, you will have an easier time finding it. Learn where you can regularly find this Pokemon.

  Discover what level the Shiny Pokemon will be during battle. For example, Stantler on Route 37 are Level 15. Find out your desired Shiny Pokemon's weaknesses. Train a Catch Pokemon until it is around the level of your desired Shiny Pokemon. Teach it moves that take advantage of the Shiny Pokemon's weaknesses. For example, if the Shiny Pokemon is a Flying-type, you would teach the Catcher Pokemon Ice-type moves.

  Buy a few dozen Ultra Balls from a Pokemon Mart, unless you're planning on using a Master Ball to capture your Shiny Pokemon. Go to the location where you can find the normal version of the Pokemon you want. Make the Catcher Pokemon your Partner Pokemon.

  Look for your desired Shiny Pokemon in that location. Run away from every Pokemon until you encounter the Shiny Pokemon that you want. Don't flee from the Shiny Pokemon once you find it.

  Use your Master Ball, which has a 100 percent capture rate, to catch the Shiny Pokemon. If you don't have a Master Ball, use Attacks to defeat it. Once the Shiny Pokemon has less than 10 hit points, throw Ultra Balls at it until it stays inside. You have caught the Shiny Pokemon if it stays inside.
