How to Make Your Pokemon Obey You

In order to catch the hundreds of Pokemon in the "Pokemon" games, a player must trade with differently colored versions of games in the same generation. While trading Pokemon can be a fun and entertaining experience, certain high-level Pokemon won't obey a trainer in battle unless he or she first earns the appropriate gym badge. Fortunately, the "Pokemon" games follow a template, allowing players to earn the respect and obedience of traded Pokemon at certain points during each game.

Instructions

  Start from the beginning of the game, heading from town to town until you reach the first town with a gym. Take time to level up your Pokemon while battling trainers to prepare for the battle with the gym leader in the town's gym.

  Enter the gym and talk to the man near the entrance to learn about what type of Pokemon the trainers in the gym use. This knowledge will help you to determine which type of Pokemon you need to have an advantage over the trainers in that gym.

  Battle the trainers in the gym until you reach the gym leader. Heal your Pokemon between battles by using items such as potions or by leaving the gym to heal at a Pokemon Center.

  Approach and speak with the gym leader to start a battle. Defeating the gym leader earns you a badge. Certain badges will have traded Pokemon up to a certain level obey you in battle.

  Continue through the game, leveling up and battling gym leaders to earn additional badges. Once you have all eight badges, all Pokemon will obey you.
