How to Get the Relic to Complete the Cave in Pokemon Platinum

Gym Badges in the "Pokemon" games are collectible items acquired by defeating various gym leaders. Badges come with special abilities and grant trainers access to regional Pokémon tournaments. The Relic Badge is the reward for defeating Fantina, the leader of Hearthome City Gym. Having it means a player can use the Defog ability outside of battle. Locating the Relic Badge can be tricky, as the rooms leading to the battle contain a series of randomly generated symbols and doors.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter the gym in Hearthome City. Talk to the attendant standing near the door in the back of the room to obtain a flashlight. This area is a series of dark, cave-like rooms with secret paths. Without a flashlight, it is impossible to collect the Relic Badge.

  Go through the door in the back of the room to enter the first area of the maze. The flashlight is automatically equipped when you enter this area.

  Walk around the room until you locate a blue square on the floor. This tile contains a unique symbol that corresponds to the door that leads to the next room. Remember the shape of this symbol.

  Walk to the back of the room and stand in front of the three red doors. Each door contains a different symbol. Enter the door that matches the symbol from the blue tile to enter the second area of the maze.

  Walk around the room until you find another blue tile on the floor. Go to the back of the room. Enter the door that matches the symbol from the final room.

  Talk to Fantina in the center of the room to initiate a battle.
- 7
  Walk down the corridor to the right and enter the teleporter to return to the entrance of the gym.
