How to Get the National Pokedex in SoulSilver

Your adventure in "Pokemon SoulSilver" begins in the region of Johto, where hundreds of different Pokemon species live. When you go to New Bark Town after learning the moves "Surf" and "Waterfall," you are able to travel across the water to the neighboring region of Kanto. There, you can challenge the Elite Four, the strongest trainers the region has to offer. Once you beat the Elite Four, you receive the National Pokedex, a tool that allows you to see information related to Pokemon from the Kanto region.

Instructions

  Head to New Bark Town, located to the east of Cherrygrove City. Get in the water at the edge of the town.

  Surf east until you reach Tohjo Falls. Proceed through the cave. When you exit, you will be on Route 27.

  Follow Route 27 east and then take Route 26 north until you get to Victory Road. Make your way through the caves at Victory Road to reach the Indigo Plateau.

  Enter the building at the Indigo Plateau to confront the Elite Four. Defeat each member of the team to beat the game. Save your game at the prompt. At the title screen, load the game. You automatically go back to your house in New Bark Town.

  Enter the lab in New Bark Town and speak with Professor Elm. You receive the S.S. Ticket, an item that allows you to travel to the parts of Kanto that were previously unavailable.

  Go to Olivine City, located southwest of Ecruteak City. Head to the dock near the S.S. Aqua ship. Professor Oak arrives and gives you the National Pokedex.
