How to Catch Darkrai on Pokemon DS

Darkrai is a Dark-type Legendary Pokemon with the "Bad Dreams" ability that decreases the hitpoints of a sleeping opponent. The only way to legitimately get it in "Diamond," "Pearl" or "Platinum" is with a Membership Pass from an official Wi-Fi Nintendo Event. As of July 2011, Nintendo did not offer the Membership Pass over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The Membership Pass gets the player into a previously locked inn in Canalave City. The player's character will fall asleep in the bed and awaken on New Moon Island. A level 50 Darkrai is on the island.

Instructions

  Catch a Fighting- or Bug-type Pokemon in the wild. Train it to at least Level 45. Teach it Fighting- or Bug-type moves, which are Darkrai's weaknesses. Make the Pokemon learn moves that induce status effects like "Sleep" and "Paralysis."

  Go to the Veilstone Department Store in Veilstone City. Purchase 50 Ultra Balls from the left cashier and 20 Awakenings from the right cashier on Floor 1. Buy 20 Lemonades or Soda Pops on Floor 5, the Rooftop Plaza.

  Speak to the interviewer on the second floor of Jubilife TV Center. Give him the message "Everyone Happy Wi-Fi Connection." He will unlock the Mystery Gift, which you can access on the main menu of "Diamond," "Pearl" or "Platinum."

  Save your game and restart. Use the D-pad and "A" to highlight and select the "Mystery Gift" option. Choose the "Get Via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection" option. If Nintendo is offering the Membership Pass through Wi-Fi Connection, the item will download to "Diamond," "Pearl" or "Platinum."

  Fly to Canalave City and go to the city's PokeMart. Get the Membership Pass from the deliveryman. Enter the inn next to the boat and a man will lead you to a bed. Your character will fall asleep in the bed. He will awaken on New Moon Island.

  Follow the path to go to the heart of New Moon Island. Save your game in front of Darkrai. Press "A" to challenge Darkrai to a battle. Use Fighting- and Bug-type moves to weaken the Darkrai. Weaken the Darkrai with a status-inducing move like "Spore," "Glare" and "Thunder Wave." Catch the Darkrai with an Ultra Ball.
