How to Get Surf in Pokemon Diamond

One of the special moves you can obtain in the game "Pokemon: Diamond Version" is called Surf. You can teach the Surf move to a water-type Pokemon character that you possess in your party. Surf allows you to float on your water Pokemon in lakes to catch different Pokemon not found on land and to reach new places. You can also use the Surf move to defeat other Pokemon in battles.

Instructions

  Walk through Celestic Town with your character. Speak to all the people wandering the streets and in homes to gain information to proceed in the game.

  Find an old lady in Celestic Town that will tell you the history of the place. Travel to the cave you see in town. You will see a Galactic Grunt standing in front of the cave entrance. Go up to the Galactic Grunt and speak to him. He will challenge you to a battle.

  Fight the Galactic Grunt with your Pokemon to beat him. Use a fire-type Pokemon to defeat the Galactic Grunt's Level 25 Beautify, which is a flying-type Pokemon weak to fire moves. The Galactic Grunt also has a Level 27 Croagunk, a psychic and poison type weak to flying and psychic Pokemon moves.

  Enter the cave after the old woman has come up to you and thanked you for getting rid of the Galactic Grunt. Walk over to the pictures and press the "A" button. The old lady will appear and talk to you again. She will give you the Surf move. You can then select it and teach it to a water-type Pokemon. You can use the move several times if you wish.
