How to Catch Lugia in Pokemon FireRed or LeafGreen

"Pokemon FireRed" and "Pokemon LeafGreen" are remakes of the "Pokemon Red" and "Pokemon Green" video games for the Nintendo DS. The remakes now offer over 380 different Pokemon, including a new set of Legendary monsters. One of these Legendary beasts is known as Lugia, a Flying and Psychic-type Pokemon capable of delivering devastating attacks. However, having access to capture this Pokemon requires players to have previously downloaded the Mystery Gift called the Aurora Ticket to access Naval Rock where Lugia resides.

Instructions

  Travel to Vermillion City and speak to the sailor at the docks to present your Aurora Ticket.

  Select "NAVAL ROCK" from the list of available locations. He will bring you to an island with a cave to the north.

  Enter the Naval Rock cave, and afterwards proceed to the right.

  Descend the cave, going down each ladder. There are no wild Pokemon to fight so your descent will be uninterrupted.

  Continue going down the cave until you reach a room with a lake and Lugia swimming at its center. Approach Lugia using the Surf ability to fight him.

  Use the move "False Swipe" continually until Lugia has one hit-point left.
- 7
  Throw an Ultra Ball to capture Lugia. If he has not been captured on the first throw, continue to throw more Ultra Balls until you are successful.
