How to Get a Scizor in Pokemon Diamond

Scizor, the evolved form of the Pokemon Scyther, wears a hard red shell unlike its predecessor's green one. A bug and steel-type Pokemon, Scizor demonstrates great weakness against fire-type Pokemon. While players cannot roam and capture Scizor in the wild in "Pokemon Diamond," players can find Scyther along Route 229 at level 52 in roughly one out of every 20 encounters. You will need a friend's assistance, a second "Pokemon" game and a second Nintendo DS to evolve Scyther into Scizor.

Instructions

  Travel to Iron Island, located in the Sinnoh Region next to Canalave City. A house rests there. Enter the house and speak to Byron. After a conversation, Byron gives you the Metal Coat. Make it your Scyther's hold item.

  Enlist your friend's assistance. He should turn on his Nintendo DS and play a compatible Pokemon game: "Diamond," "Pearl," "Platinum," "HeartGold" or "SoulSilver." Both players should first speak to the Oreburgh City Pokemon Center Wi-Fi Representative to get the Pal Pad. Press "Start" to access the main menu and then "Bag" and "Key Items." Select "Pal Pad." Pick "Use." Beneath your character's name, select "Code" to view your friend code. Both players should exchange these codes with one another.

  Repeat Step 2. After you select "Use," pick "Register Friend Code." Enter your friend's game code. Your friend will enter the code she received from you. Press "OK" after entering the friend's name and code. Pick "Yes" to finish the registration process. Wait until your friend completes this step, and both players can proceed to the nearest Pokemon Center.

  Go to the bottom floor of the Pokemon Center and speak to the Wi-Fi Club representative. Answer "Yes" to her questions four times to enter into the trade screen, along with your friend. On the trade screen, a menu listing friends' names appears. Highlight and select your friend's name. Click on "Invite" and select "Trade." Wait until your friend accepts the invitation.

  Select "Scyther" from your list to trade. Confirm the trade. Scyther will evolve into Scizor once traded to your friend. Repeat the trading process with your friend to get Scizor into your own Pokemon party.
