There are three unique ways to level up your Pokemon in the Nintendo DS game "Pokemon Platinum." Some Pokemon simply require that you level them up to a certain point and then they evolve naturally. Other Pokemon must first be traded to a friend's DS, at which point they will evolve and can be traded back in their new form. Still other Pokemon require you to use a specific item on them, which will then trigger the evolution. Murkrow is a Pokemon in the third category.

Open your "Items" menu.

Scroll down and select the "Dusk Stone" item.

Use the Dusk Stone on your Murkrow. The Murkrow will automatically evolve into a HonchKrow.
