How to Use an R4i in a DSi XL

The R4i card is a small cartridge designed for use with the Nintendo DS handheld system. Using the R4i, a player can create homebrew games, cheats and file saves on his computes, then save them to a Micro SD card. The R4i reads the MicroSD card and translates it into a language the Nintendo DS can understand, making its content playable. If you have the most recent version of the R4i cartridge, it is automatically compatible with the DSi XL.

  Download and install the R4i drivers and software from the R4i website at R4i-SDHC.com.

  Connect your MicroSD card to your computer using the adapter included with your R4i purchase.

  Open Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows button and "E," then right click the MicroSD card and select "Format." Format the disk as FAT32.

  Drag and drop the items from the R4i software folder onto the MicroSD card.

  Remove the MicroSD from the adapter and insert it into the R4i card.

  Insert the R4i into your Nintendo DSi XL and turn on the power. The system should load to the R4's operating system.
