How to Check What Is Hacked on a Pokemon Legality Checker

You can create your own Pokémon creatures from scratch using the "PokeSAV" software. You can also edit existing Pokémon to change their appearance or abilities. You will need to verify that the creature you created reads as "legal" by the game's software in order to import Pokémon into a modified Pokémon game. You can do this by running the creature through a Pokémon legality checker.

Instructions

  Download a Pokémon legality checker from your favorite "Pokémon" modding site. Checkers are often included in bundles with "PokeSAV."

  Remove the contents of the downloaded folder and place the legality checker on your desktop.

  Create a new Pokémon creature in "PokeSAV." Save your new creature as a PKM file to your desktop for easy access.

  Click the newly created PKM file and drag it to the legality checker software. The program will automatically open and run a legality test.

  Read the results on the checker to determine if your Pokémon is legal. The checker will tell you the Pokémon appears to be hacked or unknown if it is illegal.
