How to Evolve Manaphy in Your Pokedex in Pokemon Platinum

Getting the water-type legendaries Manaphy and Phione into your Pokedex can be tricky if you don't know how. While Manaphy can be bred to get Phione, Phione does not actually evolve into Manaphy, nor anything else for that matter. Getting Manaphy into your Pokedex in "Pokemon: Platinum Version" is relatively easy, but Phione involves a little more work.

Instructions

  Walk or fly to Hearthome City, then head south onto Route 212.

  Enter the mansion on Route 212, then head to the owner's room. Look at a book on his desk to see a picture of Manaphy, which will add the Pokemon to your Pokedex. Now that you have seen Manaphy, you will be able to trade for one.

  Leave the mansion and use fly to go to Jubilife City.

  Visit the Global Trade Station (GTS) and put up a request for Manaphy. Offer a strong or rare Pokemon, like Giratina or one of the Regis, to make your trade more tempting for others. Finding someone who wants to trade away Manaphy may take a while so be patient. Search the GTS to see if anyone is offering a Manaphy in exchange for another Pokemon.

  Fly to Solaceon Town and head to the Pokemon Day Care.

  Put both Manaphy and a Ditto in the Pokemon Day Care. The two will eventually produce an egg. Free up a space in your party and claim the egg.

  Walk around until the egg hatches to obtain Phione.
