How to Get the Speech Classes in Dragon Quest 9 for the DS

The Speech Classes in "Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies" for the Nintendo DS determine what your response will be when people talk to your character via the DS' wireless connection. These classes, or styles as the game refers to them, are accessible at any time and all of them are available to you from the time that you start the game.

Instructions

  Turn your Nintendo DS' power on, while the "Dragon Quest 9" game cartridge is in your Nintendo DS. Then tap the "Dragon Quest 9" button on your DS' startup screen.

  Load your saved game file, or start a new game.

  Press the "X" button to access the in-game menu once you have control of your characters.

  Choose the "Misc." option from the in-game menu by pressing the "A" button while your cursor is beside this option.

  Choose the "Profile Settings" option from the "Misc." menu by pressing the "A" button while your cursor is beside this option.

  Choose the "Speech Style" option from the "Profile Settings" menu by pressing the "A" button while your cursor is beside this option.

  Select a speech style from the list which will appear on the right side of the screen. Press the "A" button to choose a speech style.

  Press either the "B" button to leave the "Profile Settings" menu or press the "A" button while your cursor is beside the "Confirm" option. Pressing the "B" button twice more will return you to the game.
