How to Get the Icicle Badge in Pokemon Diamond

In "Pokemon Diamond," badges are given to you when you defeat a city or town's gym leader. A gym leader is the strongest Pokemon trainer in his or her city. The badge each leader gives you represents your strength in battle, and some badges let you use new moves or explore different places. One of the last badges you can get is the Icicle Badge. To obtain it, you must travel far to the north to reach the isolated Snowpoint City. There, gym leader Candice awaits your challenge.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter Mt. Coronet through the western door, located next to Route 211. Make your way through the cave and when you exit, you will be on Route 216.

  Keep walking north to get to Snowpoint City. As you travel, a raging blizzard appears, making it nearly impossible to see. Stay to the left of the screen and keep walking north until the blizzard dies down.

  Go east at the junction to enter Snowpoint City. Heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center, if necessary. Enter the gym in the middle of the town.

  Stand to the right of the statue on the left side of the room. Walk straight north and you will slide across the ice on the floor, breaking two snowballs that are blocking your path.

  Slide to the south. Walk right two steps. Slide south once more to destroy three more snowballs. Slide right and you will be attacked by a trainer. Defeat him and then slide northeast.

  Slide to the snow. When you hit the snow, you stop sliding. Stand on the second patch of snow from the right. Slide down to land on another snow patch. Slide to the left to remove another snowball.

  Slide left, then down, and go upstairs. Slide south again and climb the next flight of stairs. Slide north and then left. Fight the trainer, then slide north to reach another snow patch.

  Slide to the right twice to remove a snowball. Return to the area at the top of the stairs. Slide north two times and then slide to the right, breaking a snowball.

  Go back to the top of the stairs. Slide down two times, and east once. Slide down twice, then slide up, left and down again. You land on a snow patch. Slide down from the snow patch to break a snowball. Slide to the left to break another snowball.

  Return to the entrance. Slide to the northeastern snow patch. Slide east to break a snowball. Slide north to land on a snow patch. Slide north again, then west, to remove another snowball.

  Go back to the northwestern snow patch by the entrance. Slide up and then west. Slide south to the snow patch. Slide to the east to break a snowball. Return to the entrance. Now that all the snowballs are broken, slide straight north to reach the gym leader's platform.

  Destroy all four of Candice's Ice-type Pokemon with a fire move. Fire Blast is extremely useful, and can knock out all of her Pokemon in one hit. Other useful moves are Flamethrower and Ember. When her four Pokemon are knocked out, she gives you the Icicle Badge.
