How to Change MoonShell Skins

MoonShell is a homebrew program that can be used on Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo DSi. This program allows users to play multimedia files, including music and movies on their Nintendo DS. Additionally, MoonShell can be used to launch and play other homebrew games and programs. Once MoonShell has been downloaded and installed onto your Nintendo DS system, you can download and change the skins to adjust the appearance and usability to your liking.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the skin you want to install onto your Nintendo DS. MoonShell skins can be found by performing an Internet search for MoonShell skins (see Resources). Download the file and save it to your game system. Extract the file by tapping on the icon twice.

    • 2

Create a new folder entitled "/moonshl/skin."

    • 3

Launch the MoonShell program, then select "Options" from the menu. Within this sub-menu choose the option that allows you to prevent the "Moonshl Directory" from being hidden.

    • 4

Exit MoonShell and reboot your Nintendo DS system to allow the changes to take effect. Once the system has restarted, open MoonShell again.

    • 5

Choose the "Open" option from the "Menu" bar and then select the file called "skin.ini," which will be located in the new folder you created for the downloaded skin. The skin will then load into MoonShell.
