How Do You Reset the Pokeradar?

The Pokeradar is a Key Item in "Diamond," "Pearl" and "Platinum" that players can use to find Shiny Pokemon or Pokemon from Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. Players receive this Key Item, along with a Poketch, after getting the National Pokedex from Professor Oak. Once you use the Pokeradar, you must charge it before you can use it again. You can charge it by walking or biking 50 steps. If you're chaining Pokemon, you should use a Repel while charging your Pokeradar to avoid breaking the chain.

Instructions

  Get the gym badges from all the gym leaders and defeat the Pokemon League. Observe all 150 Pokemon to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex. Depending on which version you own, you won't encounter Dialga or Palkia in battle. Speak to the woman in the top house of Celestic Town and she will show you Dialga or Palkia, which are necessary to complete the Pokedex.

  Talk to Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town. Professor Oak will drop in for a visit and give you the Pokeradar, the National Pokedex and a Poketch app. He will tell you about Pal Park and the other new areas of Sinnoh you unlocked.

  Go to any large patch of grass in Sinnoh. Register the Pokeradar from the Key Items section of your Bag. Press "Select" to use the Pokeradar.

  Use a Max Repel if you are using the Pokeradar to chain for Shiny Pokemon. The Max Repel will prevent you from breaking the chain. Equip the bike and take 50 steps. After those 50 steps, you will be able to use the Pokeradar again.
