How to Mod Your DSi

The Nintendo DSi is one of the most popular game consoles manufactured by Nintendo. It was released 2008. After its release, the DSi was very well received, with the single complaint being the lack of exclusive software. The extra features incorporated into the system convinced many gamers to purchase this console instead of the previously released Nintendo DS models. Users must modify, or mod, the DSi in order to be able to play downloaded home-brew games, read e-books or use the console as an mp3 player.

AceKard 2i flash card
Micro SD memory card

Instructions

  Download the latest version of the custom Nintendo DSi firmware.

  Insert the Micro SD memory card into the slot on the computer. Transfer the file named "ak2ifw_update_14_DSi.nds" to the root of the memory card.

  Insert the Micro SD card into the AceKard 2i flash card and insert the flash card into the Nintendo DSi console.

  Select the Micro SD Card icon from the menu that appears on the screen of the console.

  Select the firmware file from the card and press "Start" to update. The custom firmware will now be installed.
