How to Find a Girl Combee in Pokemon Platinum

Combee is a Bug- and Flying-type Pokemon that was introduced in the fourth-generation of Pokemon games, "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum." Combee evolves into the powerful Vespiqueen at Level 21, but only if the Combee is female. You can encounter both male and female Combees at any large tree by slathering it with honey that you can find throughout the game. The female Combee has a 12.5% encounter rate, meaning that you may have to slather a few trees with honey before you finally encounter one.

Instructions

  Travel to any large tree in the game. The most common tree used is the one right by the windmill outside of Eterna Forest due to it being the first tree you encounter after receiving honey.

  Open your bag by pressing "X" and select the honey. Use the honey on the tree. If you do not have honey, you can purchase some from the honey man in Floraroma Town for 100 PokeDollars.

  Come back to the tree in 12 hours. The game's internal clock keeps track of time so you cannot speed up this process, but you can slather honey on multiple trees to increase your chances of finding a female Combee.

  Interact with the tree if it is shaking. A Pokemon battle will occur. If you are lucky, it will be a Combee. If you are luckier, it will be a female Combee. Weaken the Combee with Fire-type moves and capture it with a Pokeball.
