How to Connect With My Game Boy Advance on Pokemon Diamond

"Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl" introduced the ability to transfer Pokemon over from the previous generation of Pokemon games released for the Game Boy Advance. As "Pokemon Diamond" is on the Nintendo DS system, you cannot connect to a Game Boy Advance, but you can insert your Game Boy Advance Pokemon game into the cartridge slot of the Nintendo DS in order to transfer your older Pokemon onto the game using a system known as "Pal Park." This makes completing your Pokedex much less tedious.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your Game Boy Advance "Pokemon" game into the Nintendo DS cartridge slot at the bottom of the system.

    • 2

Turn the DS on and select the "Pokemon Diamond" icon. Press "Start" to begin the game and select your save file.

    • 3

Transfer to Route 228 and enter Pal Park. Speak with the attendant to begin the connection process.

    • 4

Select the six Pokemon you wish to transfer and complete the capture mini-game. The capture mini-game consists of you roaming around a small area until you encounter and catch all six Pokemon. It's fairly straightforward and should not take long to complete. Once the game has been completed, all six Pokemon from your Game Boy Advance game will be transferred onto your copy of "Pokemon Diamond."
