How to Get Rid of a Bad Egg in Pokemon SoulSilver

Captured eggs in "Pokemon SoulSilver" ordinarily develop and hatch into Pokemon such as Togepi. However, a Bad Egg results from using cheating devices, such as the Action Replay, or otherwise corrupted game data. These eggs may continue to multiply into Bad Eggs or glitch and affect other Pokemon in your party. Players may sometimes catch Bad Eggs holding seals, which prevent the Bad Egg from getting deposited into the PC. As the egg multiplies, all slots in the Pokemon party eventually consist of Bad Eggs, preventing the player from participating in battle.

Instructions

    • 1

Attempt to release the Bad Egg into the wild. If this does not work, go to the PC in a Pokemon Center and access Bill's PC, the Pokemon Storage center. Select "Bad Egg" from your Pokemon party and click on "Deposit" to put it into storage. Although it may continue to multiply in the PC, it will not otherwise affect your game. Bad Eggs equipped with seals, however, cannot be removed from your party.

Consult with a friend who wishes to restart his Pokemon game. Both players should go to a Pokemon Center and speak to the Wi-Fi Club representative to initiate a trade. Select the Bad Egg to trade with your friend. Confirm the trade. Your friend should then delete his game data and start over, removing all evidence of the Bad Egg's existence.

    • 3

Trade the Bad Egg to one of your other Pokemon games. Insert "SoulSilver" into the Nintendo DS. Place another Nintendo DS Pokemon game into a second Nintendo DS. Repeat Step 2 to trade between your games. The second game will house the Bad Egg until you delete your game data or trade it to another game.

Delete your game data in "SoulSilver" and start a new save file to permanently erase the Bad Egg from your game files.
