How to Get a Chimchar Egg

Chimchar is a small, brown Fire-type Pokemon that has the appearance of a chimpanzee. This Pokemon evolves into a Monferno when it reaches level 14 and finally an Infernape at level 36. Players can choose a Chimchar as their starter Pokemon in "Pokemon Diamond," "Pearl" and "Platinum." Like all other Pokemon, a Chimchar can only breed with other Pokemon in its own egg group to produce an egg. The egg will always be the same type as the mother, except when breeding with a Ditto.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the game and when given the chance to select your starter Pokemon, pick the Chimchar. If you already started playing with one of the other starters, you will have to trade with another player to get a Chimchar, as the one you could pick is the only Chimchar in the entire game.

    • 2

Play the game until you have access to the daycare center in the upper left corner of Solacean Town.

    • 3

Speak to the woman inside the daycare center to drop off your female Chimchar along with any male Pokemon that is in the same egg group. Chimchar falls into the Ground and Humanshape egg group, so you can breed with any male Pokemon, such as Abra (found on route 203 and 205,) Machop (route 207 and 208) or Drowzee (route 215.) If you have a male Chimchar, drop it off with a Ditto, found on route 218.

Walk around for a while, and then check the Poketech app that the man inside the daycare center gave you. This shows whether your egg is ready or not. Return to the daycare center as soon as the egg is produced to claim it.
