Find a suitable program that allows you to play games. It will need to be compatible with the R4DS or you will not be able to save effectively. The R4DS has built-in players for music and movies, but playing video games requires additional downloads. You can find these on other Internet sites, but always be careful and make sure you know exactly what you are downloading.
Proceed far enough into the game so that you are able to save. All video games are different. Many older games don't come with a save function at all. However, with the save slots on the system-based software, you should be able to save any game at any point, regardless of whether it supports in-game saving.
Save the game using the in-game saving method or by accessing the software menu. Touch the DS console with a finger or with the stylus. By touching the screen, you will bring up the menu for the software that you are using. Select "Save." If you want to save multiple files of the same game, you can change the save slot and save the game multiple times.
