How to Get Dark Pokemon in Pokemon Diamond

In "Pokemon Diamond," there are a total of 24 Dark-type Pokemon that you can obtain. Dark-type moves are effective against Ghost and Psychic Pokemon. Psychic-type moves cannot cause damage against Dark-type Pokemon. Bug- and Fighting-type moves are very effective against Dark-type Pokemon Usually, you can only obtain Dark-type Pokemon, such as Murkrow, at night. You can find most Dark-type Pokemon in caves and other dark places. Overall, Dark-type Pokemon have very high Attack stats, but below average Defense stats. Many Pokemon players refer to Dark-type Pokemon as "Shadow Pokemon."

Instructions

  Catch a Bug- or Fighting-type Pokemon. Purchase Pokeballs and Potions from any PokeMart. Travel to Eterna Forest, which is north of Eterna City, after 8:00 pm. Walk in the long grass until you encounter a Murkrow. Fight the Murkrow with Bug- or Fighting-type moves and throw Pokeballs at the Pokemon until you catch it.

  Catch any type of Pokemon, except Normal-type, Fighting-type or Psychic-type Pokemon. Spiritomb is a Dark- and Ghost-type Pokemon, so it has no weaknesses. Dig in the Sinnoh Underground for an Odd Keystone. Place it inside the well on Route 209. Use the DS Wireless feature to have a friend visit you underground.

  Talk to the friend once, leave the Sinnoh Underground and go back to speak to your friend again. Talk to your friend for a total of 32 times. Return to the well on Route 209 and inspect it. Fight the Spiritomb and throw Pokeballs at it until you capture the Pokemon.

  Complete the Sinnoh Pokedex to obtain the National Pokedex. Speak to your Rival's sister in Sandgem Town. She will tell you about a route where she found a Pokemon that wasn't there before. Each day, this route and Pokemon will change. Talk to her every day and she will eventually tell you there is a swarm of Absol on Route 213.

  Put a Bug- or Fighting-type Pokemon in your party. Go to Route 213 and walk in the long grass. After one or two battles, you will encounter an Absol. Whittle the Absol's health to the red zone with Bug- or Fighting-type moves and use Pokeballs on the Dark-type Pokemon until you catch it.
