How to Get a Gligar in Pokemon: Diamond

Gligar is a combination Ground and Fighting-type Pokémon with high defense and attack stats. Gligars are relatively easy to find and capture, making them an excellent fill-in creature until you find something you like better if your current stable of Pokemon is missing a reliable Ground or Fighting-type creature. Gligars can learn a variety of moves including Sand-Attack, Poison Sting, Harden, Knock Off and Quick Attack. This Pokémon evolves into Gliscor, an exceptionally rare Ground/Flying-type Pokémon.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a copy of "Pokémon Emerald" into the Nintendo DS's GBA slot. Pokemon Diamond should be in the DS slot.

    • 2

Turn on the Nintendo DS and load your saved Pokémon Diamond file. Your game will launch in "Dual-Slot" mode, which allows different types of Pokémon to appear.

    • 3

Set up your battle party with Psychic, Flying, Grass, Ice or Water-type Pokémon. Flying and Fighting-types are particularly weak to these elements.

    • 4

      Travel to Stark Mountain or Routes 227, 215, 214, 206 or 207.

    • 5

Run around the map until a wild Gligar appears. You can weaken him with ease thanks to your battle party setup and capture him in an empty Pokéball.
