How to Get Yellow Shellos

Shellos is a Water/Ground-type Pokemon first introduced in the fourth generation of Pokemon games, starting with "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl." Depending on where you catch Shellos, it will normally be either blue or pink. There are two ways to obtain a yellow Shellos, which is a blue shiny Shellos. Shiny Pokemon are alternate-colored Pokemon, even though they're the same in every other way. Aside from the color, the only difference between normal Pokemon and shiny Pokemon is the fact that shiny Pokemon are extremely rare. The easiest place to find blue Shellos is on Route 213. Alternatively, you can breed two Shellos using the Masuda Method to increase your chances of getting a shiny Shellos.

Instructions

  1. Capturing a Shiny Shellos

    • 1

Travel to Route 213 and place a grass-type Pokemon at the front of your party.

    • 2

Walk around the tall grass until you encounter a shiny Shellos.

    • 3

Use Grass-type moves to weaken the Shellos and then capture it. Do not defeat it, because then you won't be able to capture the Shellos. This may take you some time; the chance of encountering a shiny Pokemon in the wild is 1 in 8,192.

    Breeding a Shiny Shellos

    • 4

Capture any blue Shellos and note whether it's male or female.

    • 5

Use the global trading station to get a blue Shellos from another country that's the opposite gender of the Shellos you caught in Step 1.

    • 6

Travel to the Daycare Center in Solaceon town and deposit both Shellos.

    • 7

Walk around the town until the owner calls you back. He'll give you an egg.

    • 8

Walk around the town some more until the egg hatches. If you're lucky, the Shellos will be shiny. Although it's rare to get a shiny Pokemon, the Masuda Method quadruples your chances of finding a shiny to 1 in 1,365.3.
