How to Catch Skorupi in Pokemon: Diamond

Skorupi is a rare scorpion-like Pokemon with poison and bug attacks. In "Pokemon: Diamond," Skorupi can only be found in Pastoria's Great Marsh area. Skorupi can enable Body Armor, which increases its defense. It can also enable "Sniper," which increases the power of its critical hits. It is one of the Pokemon that can be caught before earning the National Pokedex from the Elite Four.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Pastoria City via Route 213 after helping Dawn defeat Team Galactic in Veilstone City. Head to the north area of town to find the Great Marsh entrance.

    • 2

Enter the Great Marsh building and climb to the second floor to find pairs of binoculars, which are on stands by the windows. These cost $100 dollars per use. Once they're enabled, the binoculars will randomly scroll through the six areas of the marsh and show pictures of the Pokemon available there. Skorupi is a pale purple scorpion with blue eyes. Pokemon appear in a rotating schedule, so return another game day if Skorupi does not appear.

    • 3

Return to the first floor of the Marsh building. Talk to the man at the counter to pay $500 for 30 Safari Balls and 500 steps upon entrance to the park.

    • 4

Head toward the area where Skorupi was sighted and walk through the grassy areas. The Pokemon will appear at random, so run from any you don't want to catch. You may need to make multiple trips to the park before you encounter a Skorupi, as it only has a 10 percent appearance rate.

    • 5

Battle Skorupi. You can throw bait to distract the Pokemon, or fling mud to do damage. However, throwing mud will increase the chance that Skorupi will flee. Once Skorupi is distracted or weakened, throw a Safari Ball to capture it. If you're unsuccessful on the first try, continue to throw mud or bait and Safari Balls until you capture Skorupi.
