How to Get a Bad Egg in Pokemon

A bad egg is a game corruption error that exists in "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl." The bad egg occurs when you use cheat software to alter the code of the game. A bad egg will rarely hatch and will appear as a series of question marks under the "Type" designation. The easiest method for obtaining a bad egg is to use the "Steal Pokemon" cheat when battling a member of the Elite Four. The "Steal Pokemon" cheat is available on most of the primary Pokemon cheating clients.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Pokemon game with a cheat client running.

    • 2

Enable the "Steal Pokemon" cheat and the "100% Catch Rate" cheat.

    • 3

Travel to Sunnyshore City, then head north across Route 223 until you reach the Pokemon League. If you are having trouble finding Sunnyshore City, consult the world map.

    • 4

Save your game before entering the Pokemon League. Bad eggs will not always occur, so you may have to repeat the process several times.

    • 5

Speak to a member of the Elite Four to initiate combat. When a member of the Elite Four summons a Pokemon, throw out a Pokeball to catch it. You will receive a message stating that the trainer's Pokemon was caught.

    • 6

Open your inventory and confirm you have received a bad egg. If you did not receive a bad egg, restart the game and attempt the procedure again.
