How to Make the Color Purple on Flipnote

Flipnote Studio is a powerful and fun animation program for users of the Nintendo DSi. Part of Flipnote's appeal is its simplicity, but sometimes the choice of only four colors can be limiting. However, it's possible to create the color purple in just a few steps.

Instructions

  1. Purple can add a new dimension to Flipnote creations.

    • 1

Boot up Flipnote by tapping the "Flipnote" icon on the DSi menu screen.

    • 2

In order to access Layers in the Flipnote Studio Advanced Tools will need to be activated. Check to see if Advanced Tools are on by tapping the "Settings" icon in the top-right corner of the Flipnote Studio; it looks like a wrench. Scroll to the third page and under the Advanced Tools heading click "On" if not already selected.

    • 3

Tap "Create Flipnote" in order to access the canvas on which you'll be making the color purple.

    • 4

Change the layer colors; Layer 1 should be red and Layer 2 should be blue. To do so tap on the "Layers" button; it has a number 2 on it and is located under the "Camera" button. Now you will see Layer 1 and Layer 2; there is a small square at the bottom right of the Layer 1 and Layer 2 icon. Clicking this square brings up the color selection. Change Layer 1 to red; change Layer 2 to blue. It must be in this order.

    • 5

Click on the "Pencil" icon; it has a number 1 on it and is located under the "Film" icon. Now tap "Draw."

    • 6

Color the entire screen blue, making sure to leave no area blank.

    • 7

Go back to the menu and tap the square in the lower left-hand corner of the "Paint" button; select the fifth brushtip.

    • 8

Go back to the blue picture and tap the "B" button on the DSi; this will switch the layers. Now paint the screen, making sure to cover the entire area. You should now have purple.
