Cheats for Eating Carrots in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

In "Mario &Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story" for the Nintendo DS, players must switch back and forth between the Mario Brothers and Bowser himself. In the level "To the Castle!" they must all work together to uproot and eat a giant carrot in Dimble Wood. While there are no cheats for this section of the game, the right strategy can make short work of the challenge.
  1. Uprooting the Carrot

    • After Bowser finds the giant carrot in Dimble Wood, you will switch to control of Mario and Luigi and head over to the Arm Center. Here, you'll have to tap glowing orbs and send them flying into Bowser's bicep. Turn up the volume and listen to the rhythm of the song. While the balls shoot out in groups, they're actually timed to the beat of the music just like a rhythm game. Tap them all in time with the beat of the song and Bowser will uproot the giant carrot.

    Gut Check

    • A new section will reveal itself after Bowser uproots the carrot. This area is called "Gut Check." Enter it to begin a minigame in which you have to help digest carrot pieces as Bowser eats them. Each bite Bowser takes will send a group of carrot bits into his stomach, and you must then tap them with the stylus. Each chunk takes three taps to completely digest. But you must keep your eye on the clock -- you only have one minute to eat the whole thing.

    Colored Pieces

    • Along with the bits of carrots that come falling into Bowser's stomach, there are also hidden color pieces that aid in digestion. If you tap the blue piece, you'll automatically digest one layer of carrot bits, whereas the yellow piece allows you to digest two. However, the red piece is by far the most powerful, causing every carrot bit on screen to digest at once. Using these colored pieces is key to beating this challenge.

    Strategy

    • Since using the colored pieces to your advantage is the only way to beat the "Gut Check" challenge in less than a minute, you must prioritize your tapping. So instead of going after every carrot piece as soon as it starts to fall, keep an eye on Bowser's mouth when he chews and turn your sound up. When he's about to drop a colored piece, his mouth will flash and a certain tone will ring out. Go for these colored pieces first -- oftentimes, they will digest the carrot bits you skipped over in one fell swoop.
