"Pokemon Diamond" is a Japanese, role-playing video game released exclusively for the Nintendo DS in 2006. As with every Pokemon game, you have several Pokemon that evolve after gaining enough experience and there are some Pokemon that must be traded to initiate the evolution process. The latter is the case with Rhydon, although this Pokemon has an additional prerequisite; you must trade Rhydon while it holds a Protector in its hands. This lets it evolve into Rhyperior.

Head to Route 228, located on your in-game map.

Head north until you come across Ace Trainer Jose, who has a Sandslash and a Golduck.

Head east until you come across a small ramp.

Go down the ramp and pick up the item on the ground. This is the Protector.
