How to Put a Code on an Action Replay DSi

The Action Replay device manufactured by Datel for the Nintendo DS and DSi utilizes the consoles' touch screen technology to make entering codes less tedious. In previous incarnations of the Action Replay for larger consoles, such as the GameCube, players had to select each character one by one using the thumbstick and pressing "A," or the equivalent for a given console. Now you can simply tap each character with your stylus, making the process much faster.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the game you want to cheat with into the Action Replay device, then load the device into your DSi as you would with any normal DS game and turn it on. Load the Action Replay program from the DSi main menu by tapping its icon.

    • 2

Tap the "Codes" option on the Action Replay main menu. If you see a box that says "Unknown game inserted," write down the alphanumeric code provided, then tap "OK" to proceed.

    • 3

Tap "Add New Game" if you saw the "Unknown game inserted" message. Enter the name of the game using the virtual keyboard, then press the "Start" button. Enter the alphanumeric code you wrote down when you are asked for the Game ID. The Game ID may already be entered for you automatically; this will vary from game to game. Press "Start" and tap "Yes" to complete the process. If you did not see the "Unknown game inserted" message, skip this step.

    • 4

Select the game you wish to modify from the list on your Action Replay --- this is the list that appears after you tap "Codes." Click the "Add new code" option to be brought to another virtual keyboard. Enter the name of the code, then press "Start" and tap "Yes."

    • 5

Enter the code using the modified virtual keyboard. Some codes can be very long, so be sure you enter it correctly, or it will not work. Press "Start" and tap "Yes" to finish entering the new code.
