What Regions Can You Go to in Pokemon SoulSilver?

Players of "Pokemon: SoulSilver," a remake of the original "Silver" version, wander through two regions. Players still have to earn gym badges and build a strong Pokemon party to progress and eventually battle against the player's rival. While previous "Pokemon" titles began in the Kanto region, players must earn badges to unlock it in "SoulSilver."

Johto Early Badges
- Players begin in New Bark Town in the Johto region. Defeat the gym leader in Violet City, which is northwest of Cherrygrove City, for the Zephyr badge. Go down Route 32 to Azalea Town and beat the gym leader there for the Hive Badge. Go to Route 34 to Goldenrod City and beat the leader at the Goldenrod City Gym for the Plain Badge. Beat the leader at the Ecruteak City Gym for the Fog Badge.
Johto Final Badges
- The last half of Johto has four more battles. Beat Chuck in Cianwood City, southwest of Olivine City, for the Storm Badge. Go northeast to Olivine City to get the Mineral Badge, then east to Mahogany Town for the Glacier Badge. The final badge, the Rising Badge, is available through Blackthorn City's Dragon's Den.
Pokemon League in Kanto
- Teach at least one Pokemon the abilities Whirlpool, Waterfall and Surf to be prepared for the trainers you'll face on the way to Kanto. Take Route 26, northeast of Tohjo Falls, to Route 23. Continue north to Victory Road and then Indigo Plateau. Topple the Elite Four there to continue to Kanto where you can earn eight more badges.
Kanto Badges
- Vermillion City, Saffron City, Celadon City and Cerulean City all have gyms where players can earn the Thunder, Marsh, Rainbow and Cascade Badges, respectively. In Fuchsia City, southwest of Kanto, topple the gym leader Janine's psychic-types for the Soul Badge. Face off against rock-type specialist Brock in Pewter City to get the Boulder Badge, and Blaine on Seafoam Island for the Volcano Badge. Your "rival" is in Viridian City. Beat him to get the Earth Badge.
