How to Catch Skarmory in Pokemon Diamond

Skarmory is a Steel and Flying-type Pokemon introduced in the second-generation "Pokemon Gold," "Pokemon Silver" and "Pokemon Crystal" games. It does not evolve from or into any other Pokemon. Skarmory's phenomenal base 140 Defense stat, coupled with its wide range of resistance, make it an ideal "physical wall" in competitive play. Players often use Skarmory to set up entry hazards such as "Spikes" or "Stealth Rock," shuffle the opponent's Pokemon with "Roar" or "Whirlwind" and heal Skarmory with "Roost." In "Pokemon Diamond," players can catch Skarmory on Route 227.

     Fly to the Fight Area and head north to reach the Survival Area. Head east onto Route 226.

     Use "Rock Climb" to traverse the cliffs and "Surf" to cross the water and reach Route 227. Roam around in the grass until a Skarmory appears. This may take several attempts, as Skarmory's encounter rate is 5 percent.

     Lower Skarmory's HP into the red zone and inflict it with Sleep or Paralysis. Throw Ultra Balls at Skarmory until it is caught.
