How to Catch Other People's Pokemon in Diamond

Sometimes you encounter a trainer in "Pokemon Diamond" with a Pokemon you really want. While the game normally forbids you from catching other trainers' Pokemon, using an Action Replay cheating device makes it possible. With the "Catch Trainers' Pokemon" code, you'll be able to use your Pokeballs to catch the Pokemon the game's nonplayer characters use to battle you. Before you can catch them, you'll still have to wear down the Pokemon's hit points, or HP, like you do in wild Pokemon battles.

Entering the Code

  Insert the Action Replay DS into your console's DS game slot as you would a normal Nintendo DS game. Insert your "Pokemon Diamond" cartridge into the Action Replay and turn your DS on. The Action Replay will automatically recognize the game and present a list of available codes.

  Press the touchscreen's green asterisk button, the "Code Select" option. Highlight "<Add New Code>" and press "A" on your DS.

  Type the name of the code you're entering using the touchscreen's virtual keyboard. Enter something easy to remember and to the point such as "Catch Trainers' Pokemon." Press "Next" near the bottom of the touchscreen.

  Type "9223B5FA 00002101 1223B5FA 00002100 D2000000 00000000" without the quotes. Don't type the spaces, which were added simply to make the code easier for you to read while entering it. Codes aren't case sensitive, so it doesn't matter if you use uppercase or lowercase letters.

  Check the code you entered for accuracy; if you've messed up, use the cursor keys to move to the wrong letter or number. Use the backspace arrow to delete the incorrect entry and use the on-screen keyboard to correct it. Once you've entered it correctly, tap "Next."

  Use the Nintendo DS D-Pad or the touchscreen arrows to scroll down and find your newly entered code in the list of available cheats. With the code highlighted, press your DS' "A" button and ensure that the code has a check mark next to it. Press "Start" when you're ready to start playing "Pokemon Diamond."
Using the Code

  Load your saved game from the "Pokemon Diamond" menu. Once loaded, walk around and look for any trainer you've yet to battle.

  Walk in front of the trainer or talk to them and you'll see an exclamation point appear above the character's head. The character will come up to you and talk to you, then you'll enter battle with them.

  Fight their Pokemon using the same tactics you'd use when trying to catch a wild Pokemon; lower its health before attempting the steal. Once the Pokemon is near fainting, use a Pokeball to attempt catching it.
