How to Defeat Jolene in Phantom

"The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007. When you first sail toward the Northwestern Sea, Jolene, a pirate, attacks your ship. You cannot run from this fight, due to your engines' having stalled --- your only choice is to fight her for your freedom. This fight is a one-on-one fight between your character, Link, and the pirate Jolene. Knowledge of Jolene's attacks, as well as how to avoid them and when to strike her, are key to winning this dangerous fight.

Instructions

  Dodge Jolene's attacks by running or rolling to her left or right, then attack her from the back as she charges you. Your avoiding her charge leaves Jolene stunned for a few seconds, giving you time to move in back of her and attack again.

  Avoid Jolene's counterattack. After taking three or four hits from your sword, Jolene will attempt to attack you with her sword. Run or roll out of the way of her slash to avoid her counterattack.

  Continue attacking Jolene until your sword clashes with hers.

  Rub your DS's stylus left and right rapidly on the DS's bottom screen to win the sword clash. When you do so successfully, Link will disarm Jolene and the battle will end, with Link victorious.
