How Do I Get Palkia on 'Pokémon Rangers'?

"Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia" is a video game available on the Nintendo DS featuring many playable characters, such as Palkia. However, Palkia isn't a character that wasn't available on the game immediately. Instead, he was available on a downloadable special mission released in Japan for two days in 2008, and in America and Europe in 2009. The mission is still available for download. Finishing the mission earns you the right to use Palkia.

Instructions

  Go to the main menu of the game and select "extra missions." Scroll through the list and click on "Palkia in Habura Desert?!" with your DS pen. It will download the mission and make it playable from the "extra missions" menu.

  Read the mission information to find out that Palkia has warped to Almia and is changing everything. Leave the Ranger headquarters and follow the streets up and to the right. Find the building at the top right section of the screen and enter it. This is the Hippowdon Temple.

  Move through the room until you reach the exit. You will be next to the Ranger Union. Capture the Piloswine and Swinum Pokemon by fighting them and defeating them. Save your game after every battle, and heal your Pokemon to keep them healthy.

  Move through the temple room by room, capturing Pokemon. Eventually, you will find yourself at the last room, which is the temple heart. You will find Palkia and his portal here.

  Fight and defeat Palkia to capture him. He has three attacks that you must avoid. The first is a hyper beam with a pause between attacks. Attack him during the pauses to hit him. He then shoots out three moving energy balls. Duck beneath these and attack him. The third attack is a physical charge that you can jump over. Avoid the lava and ice during the battle, and continue attacking him to capture him.
