How to Fix a Broken Pokewalker

The Pokewalker is meant to be clipped to a belt or left in a pocket, but its small size makes it easy to forget about on laundry day. If you accidentally washed your Pokewalker or got it wet in any other way, there is a good chance that it still works. The circuitry inside of a Pokewalker is mostly well-protected, but the device malfunctions when wet. If allowed to dry, the Pokewalker should function normally again.

Remove the screw from the back of the Pokewalker device using a Phillips screwdriver.

Pull the back of the Pokewalker off and pop the battery out. Slide your fingernail under the battery and lightly pull up to lift the battery from its casing.

Turn the Pokewalker over and let any excess water fall out of it. Place the Pokewalker, battery and backing in a warm, sunny spot. Leave the Pokewalker to dry for about 4 to 6 hours.

Replace the battery in the Pokewalker and secure the backing using the screw you removed earlier. Turn the Pokewalker back on to check if it is still functional.
