How to Get Pikachu With Volt Tackle in Pokemon SoulSilver

"Volt Tackle" is a powerful Electric-type attack that Pikachu can only learn in the Nintendo DS video-game "Pokemon SoulSilver." You can only get a Pikachu with "Volt Tackle" by breeding it from two other Pikachus, one of whom has to be holding a specific item. Pokemon can only mate at the Pokemon Day Care Center. If you evolve your Pikachu into Raichu using a Thunder Stone, it will still know "Volt Tackle."

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Viridian Forest on Route Two between Viridian City and Pewter City in the Kanto region. Catch at least one female Pikachu and one male, one of which must be holding a "Light Ball."

    • 2

Put the two Pikachus in your traveling party of six Pokemon. Take them to the Pokemon Day Care Center on Route 36, just south of Goldenrod City in Johto.

    • 3

Put the two Pikachus in the Day Care.

    • 4

Leave the Day Care and go for a walk. Every time you walk 256 steps, there is a chance the Pikachus will mate.

    • 5

Go back to the Day Care and the old man outside will call you over and give you an egg.

    • 6

Place the egg in your traveling party of six Pokemon and walk around some more. Every 255 steps, there is a chance the egg will hatch. The Pikachu will eventually hatch, and it will know the move "Volt Tackle."
