How Do You Change a Pokemon's Nickname on Pokemon Diamond?

In "Pokemon Diamond," whenever you capture a Pokemon, you are given the chance to name it. A Pokemon's nickname helps you identify it, especially if you have several of the same type of Pokemon. If you chose a name for a Pokemon that you no longer want to use, it is possible to select a new name. To do so, you must travel to Eterna City and speak with the Name Rater.

      Go to Eterna City, located on the left side of Mount Coronet just past Route 211.

      Walk toward the Pokemon Mart in the middle of town. Enter the Eterna Condominiums next door.

      Speak with the elderly man on the first floor of the condominiums. This is the Name Rater.

      Tell the Name Rater you want a new name for a Pokemon. Select the Pokemon you want to rename. Type the desired name, and the Name Rater saves the change.
