Instructions
Borrow another Nintendo DS system and insert "SoulSilver" into the DS slot located on the bottom of the system. Turn on the system and play through the game. If you do not experience freezing, your Nintendo DS may be malfunctioning and in need of repair. If you continue to experience freezing, "SoulSilver" may be malfunctioning.
Insert other Nintendo DS games into your Nintendo DS system. If you do not experience freezing in these games, the freezing problem is likely because of damage to "SoulSilver." If freezing appears in all of your games, the problem may be because of either the Nintendo DS system or the games. Call Nintendo's Customer Support line at (800) 255-3700 for step-by-step assistance in solving the freezing problem.
Examine the connector pins --- vertical metal pins located on the back of "SoulSilver." You may see deposits of grime or other contamination. Clean the connector pins using a dry, soft cloth, tissue or cotton swab. Attempt to play the game again. If this does not solve the freezing problem, replace your copy of "SoulSilver."
Determine if you are using Nintendo-licensed products. Products made by other companies may not be compatible with "SoulSilver" or other Nintendo DS games, which may lead to freezing or other complications. A licensed Nintendo product will have the official Nintendo seal (see References). If you did not see a seal on the packaging or manual of the item that you purchased, it is not licensed by Nintendo. Use only Nintendo-licensed products with your Nintendo DS.
