How to Get Darkrai in HG/SS

There is only one Darkrai in the Pokemon "Diamond," "Platinum" and "Pearl" games, and the only way to catch it is by using a cheat (originally a store event Pokemon encounter). There are a few ways to go about this. One requires an Action Replay device while the other exploits a programming glitch. The Action Replay code is the easier and faster of the two ways to get Darkrai. You will need a group of high-level Pokemon and some Ultra Balls before you trigger the Darkrai event because you only get one shot at it. After you catch it, you can trade it to "SoulSilver" or "Heart Gold."

Getting Darkrai with the Action Replay

  This code will unlock the dream event in which you battle Darkrai.

  Travel to Canalclave City and engage to Cressilia.

  Travel north past the PokeCenter and enter the Hotel. This will trigger the dream event that takes you to FullMoon Island.

  Find and Battle Darkrai on FullMoon Island.

  Trade your Darkrai to "SoulSilver" using the PalPark.
