How to Get the 6th Chaos Emerald in Sonic Rush

"Sonic Rush," a "Sonic the Hedgehog" game for Nintendo DS, puts players in control of Sonic, a fast-moving blue hedgehog on the hunt for gems called the Chaos Emeralds. The sixth emerald, a light blue gem, is found in the "Water Palace" level. Sonic must find the entrance to the Special Stage, where the emeralds are kept, and successfully navigate the stage.

Instructions

    • 1

      Play the "Altitude Limit" level.

    • 2

Fill up the "X Power" bar. Sonic needs a lot of X Power to access Special Stages. Killing monsters fills up the gauge.

    • 3

Look for the Special Gimmick, which is a star inside a spinning ring. This is the portal to the Special Stage.

    • 4

Grab the Special Gimmick and hold down the "Y" button. The X Power will launch Sonic through a portal into the Special Stage.

    • 5

Navigate through the stage using the DS stylus. Tap spots along the half-pipe course to move Sonic. The course is filled with rings and spiked traps.

    • 6

Grab rings while dodging the traps. The Special Stage consists of two parts. Sonic must grab a designated number of rings to advance past the first part. In the "Altitude Limit" level, Sonic needs 180 rings to unlock the second half of the Special Stage. If Sonic hits a trap, he will lose rings. Collect 310 rings to get past the second half of the Special Stage. Once Sonic is past the second stage, he will acquire the blue Chaos Emerald.
