How to Beat Mesprit in Pokemon Platinum

"Pokemon Platinum" is the comprehensive third title in the "Diamond and Pearl" generation of Pokemon games. This game is exclusive to the Nintendo DS and includes all Diamond/Pearl Pokemon and a new legendary Pokemon to catch. Once you have finished the main story quest, you can start working on post-game content like the "National Dex." Mesprit is a Pokemon part of this post-game content, and can only be caught after you have finished Pokemon Platinum's story mode.

Instructions

- 1
  Go to Mesprit's Cave. You will encounter the Pokemon, but it will quickly fly away. This is normal and will start the Mesprit quest.

  Touch the Poketex icon and select the map. You will see a Mesprit icon randomly appear near a landmark in Sinnoh. This will change every time you start the quest, and it is impossible to predict where the Mesprit will appear.

  Walk to the landmark. Do not fly or fast-travel, as this will interrupt the quest and the Mesprit will disappear.

  Walk up to the Mesprit. The battle will start immediately. If you want to catch the Mesprit for your National Dex, you will need a Master Ball (or higher), as Mesprit is a rare Pokemon and can't be caught with a regular Poke Ball. If you do not want to catch it, simply use Dark or Ghost attacks against it.
