Once you get to Route 229 in "Pokemon Platinum" for the Nintendo DS, you will come across something of a mystery. Towards the top of the map, near the exit to the Resort area, is a Pokeball sitting out in the open, just waiting for you to come pick it up. The trick is that it's behind some lava rock, which cannot be broken by any of your Pokemon's techniques. There seems to be no way to get to the Pokeball, at least not at first.

Walk up to the unbreakable rock blocking your path to the Pokeball.

Walk one step south of the rock, then walk to the left until something impedes your progress. This is a difficult-to-see, cuttable tree.

Use the "Cut" move on the tree to remove it from your path. You can now walk up and take the Pokeball containing the Reaper Cloth.
