How to Catch Murkrow in 'Pokemon Diamond'

Murkrow, the Darkness Pokemon, is a Dark/Flying-type Pokemon found primarily inside the Eterna Forest of Pokemon Diamond. Murkrow is a nocturnal Pokemon, so you find it only at night, after 8 p.m. Pokemon Diamond uses the Nintendo DS internal clock to know the time of day. If you have a Dusk Stone, you can evolve Murkrow into the more powerful Big Boss Pokemon, Honchkrow. Honchkrow is also a Dark/Flying-type Pokemon. Both Murkrow and Honchkrow are powerful assets against Ghost-, Grass- and Psychic-type Pokemon.

  Travel to Floaroma Town between the hours of 8 p.m. and 4 a.m., which is nighttime in Pokemon Diamond.

  Head east on Route 205, and then turn north when you come to a bridge crossing the water by a honey tree.

  Walk north through a grassy area and a mountain area until you reach a wall of trees.

  Enter Eterna Forest through the path to the left of the sign post.

  Walk in all the grassy areas to meet the wild Pokemon that live in Eterna Forest. Murkrow appears 20 percent of the time during nighttime hours.

  Lower Murkrow's health by hitting it with Ghost-, Dark- or Grass-type moves that only do a little damage at a time. You don't want to knock Murkrow out or you won't be able to catch it.

  Toss a Pokeball when Murkrow's hit points meter shows its health in the red zone. If Murkrow doesn't stay in the ball the first time, keep throwing Pokeballs until it does.
