How to Help the Director in SoulSilver

Exit the Goldenrod Radio Tower and enter the Goldenrod Underground area.

Take the small side corridor near the bottom of the Underground until you see a girl in a kimono. Wait for her to leave, then walk up to the door behind where she was standing and press the "A" button. You will unlock the door with the key you obtained from the Impostor.

Save the game immediately upon entering the next room. Your rival will appear when you attempt to challenge the Team Rocket thug here, so have your strongest Pokemon out and ready.

Defeat your rival, then begin exploring the cave. Defeat the Team Rocket goons as you come across them and continue on until you come across a room with a series of colored switches on the wall. You can either go past them and keep exploring the cave, or you can solve the puzzle now and continue forward with the plot.

Activate the switches in the following order: Green, red and blue. Or, if the colors are too difficult to make out, middle-left-right. From the switch room go right, down and then continue walking to the right.

Defeat the Team Rocket thugs that attempt to impede your progress and continue walking down the corridor. Pick up any Pokeballs you come across as you go.

Take the first left you come to and go past the stairs. Defeat one more Team Rocket goon, then take the corridor leading down. You will come across the real Director in this room. Talk to him to rescue him and obtain the "Card Key" item.

Return to the Radio Tower and use the Card Key to climb up past the fifth floor. On your way up you will be challenged by several Team Rocket admins. Defeat them and continue up to the sixth floor.

Defeat Archer, the final Team Rocket admin, on the sixth floor to regain control of the Radio Tower. The Director will thank you for all your hard work and reward you with a Silver Wing.
