How to Get Up Mudslides in Pokemon Sapphire

Bikes are necessary vehicles to complete the entire "Pokemon Sapphire" game. Although players can only have one bike in their possession at a time, they can choose and switch between the Mach bike and the Acro bike. When mudslides block a player's path, the player must use the speedy Mach bike to cross the obstacle. The player gets the option to buy a bike only after beating some specific gym leaders.

Instructions

- 1
  Defeat the first gym leader, Roxanne, in Rustburo City. Roxanne specializes in rock type Pokemon. Head to Dewford Town and defeat Brawly, who specializes in fighting type Pokemon. Take the ship to Slateport City. Head west of Slateport City until you reach the end of Route 110.

  Go to Mauville City. Walk to Rydel's Cycles next to the Pokemon Center in the middle of town.

  Talk to the man standing outside of the bike shop. Rydel will offer you a free bike. Choose the Mach bike.

  Go to "Bag" from the game menu and choose the Mach bike as your key item. Stand a few paces from the mudslide. Press "Select" to equip the Mach bike.

  Press the direction button that corresponds with the direction you're facing. You will go up if you are the correct number of paces from the mudslide. If you don't go up the mudslide, move a few steps back and try again.
